Academic innovation continues to accelerate at Denison
Denison is expanding its academic offerings with newly approved programs in finance, machine learning and AI, organizational strategy and leadership, and sports analytics. These additions reflect Denison's continued commitment to innovation and career-relevant learning grounded in the liberal arts.Read more about how these programs were developed.
Denison adds men's fencing to its varsity lineup
Beginning in the 2026-27 season, men's fencing will become the 28th varsity sport for Big Red athletics. Peter Grandbois, who restarted the Big Red club fencing program in 2012, and elevated the women's team to varsity status seven years later, will coach the men's and women's teams, with Hector Florencia serving as assistant coach for both. Learn more about the growth of Denison's fencing program, which can trace its beginnings back to at least 1941.

Love, music, and a little Denison magic
When Ali Pappas ’11 and Eric Brown ’09 were planning their wedding reception, they had a decision to make — DJ or live band? What they ended up with was a newly formed band that would perform for one night only, at their wedding reception. Following Zoom rehearsals and an eight-hour practice, the bride and groom enjoyed an epic jam session with their dearest friends on their most special night. See how the Brown Family Band was born.
